Impressive! That's twice the speaker I have. Bet they sound great.
Starting price is $5K. How much would it cost to piece this together?
Make sure you scroll down through all his pictures.
Anyone know what model they are?
Holy Loudness Batman!!!!!! there's enough speaker there to fill a football stadium!!!!!! Now I know what all the "You should see how large my 291 Drivers are" comments are about. Those things are HUGE!!!!!

If you read the small print, the complete description is there. On a good day I think you could put them together for less then the asking price.
"I am the original owner of these massive Voice of the Theatre speakers. I purchased them new from an Altec distributor named “Pro Media” which was in San Francisco. That was in 1985. The only place they have ever performed is in my living room and they remain in fine working condition. They use the model 817A bass reflex cabinet; these are the particle board version. Low frequencies are handled by two 16” 515-16G’s. The highs are taken by a 1005B multicell horn connected to a double throat leading to two 291-16K drivers! The crossover is the N-500-F but with the added feature that these crossovers contain ALL THREE of the possible matching transformers installed that allow several possible impedances. The cabinets utilize two XLR connectors: one for the incoming signal and one connecting the high frequency drivers. Included in the auction is a pair of speaker cables with bare contacts on one end and the XLR connector on the other. The cabinets are in very fine condition but do have a few screw holes and typical wear on the tops for 26 year old cabinets. I took a picture to try to show condition. "

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But it would have to be a really good day. There is some considerable value to the turn-key package. Of course they may sell for well above $5K, we'll have to what and see.
Model number? Anyone? Were they an actual model or something customized?
They appears to be the 817.
